We are growing our own vegetables and fruits not only for food safety or reducing food cost. There are many other reasons. Growing plants needs some physical activities which help me to burn my calories. We can taste fully ripe fruits and fresh vegetables which we can’t experience with normal commercial food circulation. Some of them are not traded as commodities in the first place.
But the most important reason is that we can feel symbiosis with plants. Their flowers, fruits and flavors please all of our five senses. To see them sick or wilted, I feel disappointed. To see them vivid and flowering, I feel energized. They often give me blissful moments.
