Don’t Be Natural, Or You’ll Get Fat

Why do we put on fat?
Because we overeat.
What is “overeat”?
To eat more calories than we burn.
Then what are calories?
Macronutrients: carbs, fats and proteins. Or some combination of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon.
But do we really want to eat that much of the combination of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon?
No, we are acutually looking for micronutrients: vitamins, minerals and others including yet-to-be-discovered ones.
Because we are eating empty calorie foods, i.e. grains, which are very rich in carbs(starches) but poor in those micronutrients, we can never be satisfied and wind up eating too much. What’s more, because we don’t feel starches sweet, our gustatory sensations are not satisfied too.
Given that consideration, I once thought if I ate only natural whole foods, which were tasty in raw condition without any additives, my weight would be fit into proper range “naturally” even if I ate as much as I want.
But that was merely my illusion.
As I tried it, I overate and got fat.
I think it is true that “empty calorie foods” is one of the major causes of obesity but that is not the end of the story.
Because it is quite natural for wild animals to get fat when they have plenty of foods though that kind of situation is very rare in nature.
It is very natural to get fat. If you leave it to nature, in this modern world unnaturally full of foods, you’ll put on weight. So I found “unnatural” calorie calculation is crucial to control my weight within “natural” range.
